SportAccord, an event which could boost the capital’s economy by millions of pounds, will see 1,500 of the world’s leading sporting figures and businessmen attend a five-day conference to discuss new opportunities in London and beyond.
Greater London Authority officials estimate the convention, to be held between April 3 and April 8 2011 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, will initially contribute £3m to the economy, although more is expected through contracts for new businesses and major events coming to the UK beyond 2012.
