IBM has announced it will invest £2 million to establish a data centre in Scotland.

The new collocation data centre will be built at the international technology giant's facility in Greenock and will provide IT services to mid-sized businesses.

Alex Reardon, Director of General Business sector UK and Ireland at IBM, commented: "This new service aims to offer quick financial returns to a medium-sized business by removing the challenge of securing and maintaining their data centres, so potential savings can be ploughed back into their business.
