Chris Williams, Managing Director of PREL, told the newspaper: "There will be 109 employees at the plant, and at least 60 per cent will be graduates, many of who will be working in the research and development centre, trying to improve the process and technology as much as possible.
He also said it is important for the park to have green credentials, with the plant using plasma technology which has never before used in UK before to incinerate biomass materials such as wood, plants and straw.
Recently, German-based energy company E.ON proposed building one of the largest biomass power stations in the UK at the port of Bristol, in a development which could power 200,000 homes.
