Measures to further improve the area have been suggested in the Innovation in Services report, published today, which hopes to see improvements in sectors such as retail, logistics, internet services, construction and environmental services.
Claiming the UK is a world leader in service sectors such as design engineering and architecture, Business Minister Shriti Vadera said the Government is committed to working with the Technology Strategy Board and the British Standards Institute to encourage innovation.
Key proposals in the report include encouraging the expansion of next-generation broadband to allow firms to practice further interaction with customers and streamlining government support for businesses to promote competitiveness.

Earlier this week, BERR launched a consultation paper on flexible working, in order to identify ways to make it easier for firms to introduce the practice and allow workers an improve work/life balance.
