Aircraft Medical, which develops various devices and technologies for anaesthesia and critical care, has been awarded £1.2 million by the Department of Health to develop breakthroughs in infection control and clinical governance technology.
Totaling some £26 million in funds, the HTD programme is a joint Government-industry to support research and development in the healthcare sector.

Peter Inglis, Head of Research & Development at the firm, said he was "delighted" that Aircraft Medical has received the funding and claimed it shows the Department of Health recognises that "significant health benefit can be made possible by our research”.
"This announcement represents another key step in our long term research and development programme which continues to gather momentum,” Mr Inglis commented.
Aircraft Medical will undertake its new research alongside NHS Trusts, following on from its recent project to develop video laryngoscope technology.

Earlier this month, the firm announced it has signed distribution contracts to sell its video laryngoscope technology in Spanish, Portuguese and Austrian markets.
