Mentholatum, which is part of the Japanese group Rohto, will plough the funds into its European headquarters in East Kilbride to increase production capacity of products such as acne treatment Oxy.
The investment will also be channelled towards the firm's research and development activities at the Peel Park, where the firm will create further eye, lip and personal care products.

Andrew Tasker, Mentholatum's managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, commented: "Our investment in East Kilbride and Scotland is part of Mentholatum's long-term strategy and reinforces our commitment to the creation of world-class healthcare solutions.
Mr Tasker also said the investment will be important to East Kilbride "in terms of growth, productivity and long-term commitment from the company".
Mentholatum was founded more than 100 years ago and manufactures several well-known products such as Deep Heat, Mentholatum Vapour Rub and Softlips balm.
