Cambridge bioscientists applauded

University of Cambridge bioscientists have been highlighted as being among the top researchers working in the UK.

The university was applauded at a Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) event which recognised the contribution that bioscience research has made to the UK economy.

Speaking at the Bioscience: Biomillions event, Steve Visscher, BBSRC interim Chief Executive, noted how bioscience has spurred developments in the agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food, healthcare and environmental sector.

Ian Pearson, the Minister of State for Science and Innovation, commented: "Bioscience researchers in the UK have not only pursued excellent, world-class research, but they have also been active in ensuring that we all benefit from their efforts.
