The Dyson School of Design Innovation plans to teach 2,500 children and adults a week, in subjects such as aerodynamics and product design, reports Design Week.
”We have to strengthen this ‘knowledge economy’'’, stated James Dyson, inventor of the Dual Cyclone vacuum cleaner and the founder of the idea.
His school aims to increase the number of educational opportunities on offer and to boost the number of UK-trained engineers.

The school’s main aim is to increase the amount of UK engineering graduates every year and according to Dyson it will be” a huge boost to education.”
Subject to approval from the Government's Office for the South West, the school will offer engineering and product design-focused diplomas, A-levels and GCSEs for 14 to 19-year-olds and will not charge any fees.

Courses will be based on real-life working environments with students operating in laboratories and studios.
Projects will be set by firms such as Rolls-Royce and Airbus who have major manufacturing operations in the UK.
