Using fuel cells to convert hydrogen into electricity, LIFECar costs £12,000 and is considered the world's first environmentally clean sports car.
Morgan worked in partnership with QinetiQ, a UK-based defence technology firm, and researchers from Oxford and Cranfield universities to develop the technology.
The breakthrough was facilitated in 2005 by a £1.9 million investment from the Department for Trade and Industry, now known as the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform.
