Located on the outskirts of Cheshire, the Capenhurst Energy Innovation Centre will provide dedicated support for small firms developing new energy technologies.
The centre is based on the premises of EA Technology, which was originally established as an R&D centre for the UK electricity industry.
Alongside specialist R&D facilities, firms will gain access to electricity network operators who will be prospective customers for their technologies.
Electricity North West, Scottish Power and CE Electricity are all partners in the project and will provide financial assistance to firms at the centre.

This new centre will provide crucial support and investment for new businesses looking to bring new products and processes to the market.
