The announcement was made by Scottish Enterprise, which facilitated a Regional Selective Assistance Grant of £1.3 million for the project.
Jim Mather, minister for enterprise, energy and tourism, said the move was an exciting one which would encourage a "supportive business environment" that would see many companies follow ClinTec's lead in relocating to Scotland.
He added: "This is great news for Glasgow and a tribute to Scotland's strengths in life sciences. Our new economic strategy means that Scotland's public sector is better able than ever to support our aim of increased sustainable growth.

The clinical research market is worth an estimated $14 billion per year globally.
