A UK-based subsidiary for AZEGO Aktiengesellschaft, has opened in the Thames Valley.

The firm, formerly known as ACG Advanced Component Group AG, is one of the top ten independent distributors of semiconductors worldwide and is headquartered in Munich.

Establishing the affiliate, known as AZEGO TS Ltd, is a key part in the firm’s strategy to develop into a full service provider for the semiconductor industry.

"Our commitment in the promising UK market will certainly have a positive impact on our turnover", says Norbert Wilkat, CEO of AZEGO AG.

Previous UK experience

This venture is not AZEGO’s first UK business operation.

They established a UK base in Oxford in 1999 for ACG (UK), which closed in 2005 pending this change in organisational direction.

The new base, in the UK’s South East region, situates AZEGO among innovative microelectronics firms and the majority of UK ICT businesses.

Sales talent to facilitate growth

By leveraging contacts and business support networks, AZEGO aims to get up and running quickly.

With the appointment of new Managing Director, Steve Dopson, AZEGO’s next step is to tap into the UK’s pool of hi-tech sales talent and employ six staff by the end of its second quarter.

"The re-entry of AZEGO to this market is an important element of our turnaround-strategy,” says Mr Wilkat.

AZEGO now operates from 19 locations in ten countries.
