According to Tiga, the trade association representing the UK and European games industry, there has been high demand for a ‘must attend’ UK games event.
Now the London Games Festival has consolidated a number of major industry events to create a week-long programme of meetings and presentations.
Exploring partnership opportunities
Games publishers and developers from around the world are attending this year’s festival to meet UK gaming companies interested in joint ventures.
Delegations from the USA, Japan, Korea, China, Finland and India are being supported by UK Trade & Investment.
Some of the overseas companies attending the Festival include Lucas Arts, Capcom, Konami, Nintendo of Europe and Warner Brothers.
They will be meeting top UK games developers such as Atomic Planet, Blitz, Nice Tech and Rebellion.
Debating key issues for industry’s future
Events at the London Games Festival include the Content Market, where publishers, developers and outsourcers will gather over three days to exhibit and schedule one-to-one meetings.
Also taking place is The London Games Summit, bringing together publishers, retailers, developers and policy makers to engage in a debate about the most critical issues affecting games industry.
The London Games Festival, set to become an annual date in the diary for the global gaming community, runs from 2-7 October.
